Terms and conditions for using Miller Moves services

1. Agreement to Terms
By engaging Miller Moves for removal services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Customer") and Miller Moves ("Company", "we", "us").
If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Services Provided
Miller Moves provides:
- Home and office removals
- Furniture delivery and assembly
- Property clearance services
- Rubbish and waste removal
- Packing and unpacking services
- Storage solutions
- Related logistics services
3. Booking and Confirmation
Quotes and Estimates
- All quotes are estimates based on information provided by the customer
- Final costs may vary based on actual requirements and circumstances
- Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise specified
- Additional services requested on the day may incur extra charges
Booking Confirmation
- Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of deposit (if required)
- We reserve the right to refuse service at our discretion
- Changes to bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance
4. Customer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about items to be moved
- Ensure safe access to properties
- Declare valuable, fragile, or hazardous items
- Be present or arrange representation during service
- Obtain necessary permits for parking/access
- Secure personal documents and valuables
- Provide clear instructions and contact information
5. Payment Terms
Payment Methods
- Cash, bank transfer, or card payments accepted
- Payment due upon completion unless otherwise agreed
- Deposits may be required for large jobs
Late Payment
- Interest may be charged on overdue accounts
- We reserve the right to retain goods until payment is made
- Collection costs may be charged to the customer
6. Insurance and Liability
Our Insurance
- We carry comprehensive public liability insurance
- Goods in transit insurance covers standard household items
- Additional insurance available for high-value items
Liability Limitations
- Liability limited to £40 per kilogram unless declared value is higher
- No liability for items packed by customer
- Claims must be reported within 7 days
- We are not liable for consequential or indirect losses
7. Prohibited Items
We cannot transport:
- Hazardous materials (chemicals, flammables, explosives)
- Illegal substances or stolen goods
- Live animals or plants
- Perishable food items
- Personal documents (unless specifically arranged)
- Items exceeding weight or size limits
8. Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations with 48+ hours notice: No charge
- Cancellations with 24-48 hours notice: 50% charge
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice: Full charge
- Weather-related cancellations will be rescheduled without charge
9. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, strikes, or government restrictions.
10. Complaints Procedure
- Contact us immediately with any concerns
- We will investigate and respond within 7 working days
- If unresolved, complaints may be escalated to relevant trade bodies
- All complaints will be handled fairly and professionally
11. Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR requirements. Customer information is kept confidential and used only for service provision.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts.
